In October 2020, Rochcare teamed up with Birchall Foodservice to host the first-ever Great Rochcare Bake Off!
It was a huge success and brought the teams from each Rochcare location together with a generous dollop of fun and a pinch of healthy competitiveness. This year, we’ve brought the event back, with a Valentine’s theme.
The event, hosted at Birchall Foodservice’s ‘development kitchen’ in Burnley, saw teams from three Rochcare homes and our domiciliary care company come together on Monday 14th February with Valentines themed homemade bakes, inspired and helped to be produced by the people they care for.
In true bake-off style, you could almost taste the competitive spirit in the air. Birchall Foodservice also took part in the event, creating their own bakes for the lucky judging panel, made up of senior managers from both Rochcare and Birchalls, to devour.
The friendly competition has been great for boosting staff and residents’ morale. As well as bringing teams together in a social setting to have fun together. February can be a dreary time of the year, but baking something delicious and sharing with others turned out to be the perfect remedy for this!
Those who attended the event all followed the carefully considered COVID safety precautions in place. These included all in attendance receiving a negative LFT result on the day, masks were worn throughout, hands and surfaces were sanitized regularly and social distancing measures were enforced where appropriate to ensure everyone felt safe and comfortable.
The afternoon was concluded by the winner being announced and a host of prizes being shared between the teams taking part.
Rochcare were thrilled to team up with a valued supplier Birchalls Foodservice once again for this event and hope to continue the partnership for further events in the future.
