Selina Wallace

Carer at Pendle Brook

I have been working in social care for over 9 years, working in nurseries, children’s residential homes, Domiciliary care and care homes.

I enjoy working with people and strive to make a difference to people’s lives. The main aspect of social care for me, would be to keep people as independent as possible for as long as possible.

I would say that the best part about my job is to find solutions that impact on people’s lives, in order to meet their individual needs, providing a positive difference.

I have a foundation degree in social care, a Level 3 diploma in working with children and young people. A level 1 + 2 in British sign language, First aid and food hygiene. Additionally, all of the mandatory training provided by Rochcare that enables me to work in a care setting.

What I am looking forward to the most working at Pendle Brook would be that it’s an adventure. It’s a brand new care home and has the same values that I support the most – Making a healthy difference and maintaining people’s independence, to name but a few. It’s an exciting opportunity and I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing the home completely full and operational.
