On Friday 8th October the ladies and gentlemen at Royley House Care Home welcomed the singer Ian Jenkins back into the home for an afternoon of singing, dancing and lots of smiles.
The people living at Royley House were treated to a party-style buffet lunch before Ian performed, after finger sandwiches and mini pastry treats, everyone was full of energy and ready to sing and dance.
Rochcare believes having things to look forward to and a sense of purpose is very important, so we help people get the most from each day in whatever way is most appropriate for them. We have a regular schedule of activities on offer designed to keep the people we support entertained and engaged.
Ian specialises in entertaining groups of people living in care homes and has taken special care to tailor the songs he sings for their music taste. This quickly became apparent when the majority of people listening were singing along and confidently knew all the words! There was dancing too with some taking centre stage to dance with the support of carers, and others preferring to tap their feet and clap along while seated.
A huge thank you to Ian for visiting and performing for everyone at Royley House. We hope to welcome him back very soon for more singing and dancing.
