A fantastic celebration of a 90th birthday led to some amazing places. Here at Rochcare, we aim to do birthdays justice and none are more special than big milestones. What an incredible achievement for our star of the month, Mary, who’s just celebrated her 90th birthday with us at Coniston House. So in preparation for the big day, we asked Mary what she wanted to do and we were thrilled with her answer. To dance once more at the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool Tower.
So off we went, to enjoy a full waltz across the ornate dancefloor among the stunning historic architecture. A quick drive was followed by a spot of early lunch, a beautiful afternoon picnic near the beach started the day brilliantly before heading to the stunning venue. Entranced by the music of the Organist, Mary enjoyed her moment in the spotlight as the famous ballad of Happy Birthday echoed across the floor.
After a round of applause from friends and strangers alike we raised a glass to a good day and continued good health with a glass of everyone’s favourite. After everyone had waltzed the last waltz or cha’d their last chacha, the next thing was of course a British staple, Fish and Chips by the beach. An incredibly exciting day paired with some very cooperative sunny weather made for one unforgettable trip. Finally, with the day coming to an end, there was one last surprise, a slow drive across the beachfront to get a picturesque view of the waves.
It has always been a priority at Rochcare to enable the people we care for to live full and fulfilled lives where they are encouraged to explore whatever makes them happy. Celebrating birthdays is just one example of this in action. Explore more activities from Coniston House on their Facebook page here > https://www.facebook.com/ConistonHouseCareHome/
