It’s Pride month, this isn’t just a month to change our logo temporarily, it’s a reminder of the high standards we hold ourselves to in supporting our staff and residents of all orientations and identities. One of our main values at Rochcare is ensuring that the views of each and every individual is sought and respected. Our efforts aren’t just office-based, as part of the My Healthy App we recommend our staff to use, there’s an incredible amount of resources available to them through it. Including live chats and callbacks regarding LGBTQI issues, they may be facing.
Our offices and our homes are areas that promote unity and collaboration and that can only be done when everyone is working together for the betterment of everyone. We proudly display our colours and ensure that resources and articles that can help support are available to view easily, without stigma, across our offices. Pride isn’t limited to just our office staff however, all of our care professionals are well versed and aware of support tools such as Pride in Ageing, a foundation helping to support elder individuals that identify as LGBTQI+. Which already made huge strides in helping to ensure that Greater Manchester becomes one of the best places for LGBTQI+ people to grow older.
We believe in nurturing an environment in which staff and those who we support feel validated and more importantly feel like they can be their authentic and genuine selves. Additional support can be found through the Age UK website with their ‘Safe To Be Me’ guide.
Together we can all #AgeWithPride
