Welcome to Bank Hall
Bank Hall is a single storey residential care home in Burnley catering for 33 people aged 65+. It is situated in its own beautiful landscaped grounds and is surrounded by woodland and wildlife.
The home is conveniently located on a bus route direct to the market town of Burnley and is also within easy walking distance to the nearby shops, train station and the picturesque Thompson Park with its beautiful Italian gardens and boating lake.
The home is wonderfully spacious yet retains a homely feel. Every bedroom is decorated and furnished to a high standard to create a cosy, homely environment. We encourage each person to decorate their room with their own photographs, books, and other keepsakes as we know adding these personal items plays a crucial part in making Bank Hall feel completely like home.
We believe having things to look forward to and a sense of purpose is very important, so we help people get the most from each day in whatever way is most appropriate for them. With this in mind, we have a regular schedule of activities on offer at Bank Hall, designed to keep the people we support entertained and engaged.
Life at Bank Hall
At Bank Hall, we provide you with all the support you need to live a dignified and fulfilling life and to continue to participate in the activities you’ve always enjoyed. We do this by finding out what was, and is, important to you and designing a care and support plan specific to your individual needs, interests and preferences.
Our dedicated Activity Coordinator carries out both group and one-to-one activities that are designed for all interests, abilities and mobility styles. Activities include crafts, baking, gardening, massage and beauty treatments, gentle exercise classes, reading/sewing groups and trips into the local community. We also host themed events, movie nights and encourage residents to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries together.Â
We also respect the privacy of residents who enjoy their own company – our home can cater to your loved one’s habits and social needs and we know how important quiet time can be too. With this in mind, we never pressure anyone to get involved before they’re ready to and take the lead of your loved one at every stage.
We are very lucky at Bank Hall to welcome so many visitors and have an ‘open door’ policy so family and friends can pop by whenever they like.
Food and nutrition
We pride ourselves on providing fresh, seasonal, home-cooked food that is prepared daily in our kitchen. Our experienced chefs offer a balanced, varied, and interesting choice of meals with a focus on health and nutrition.Â
Our kitchen caters for all dietary and eating requirements, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and soft or blended meals. We also ensure a tasty alternative to the main menu is always available.
Although our bright, communal dining rooms are the most popular space for mealtimes, we encourage those in our care to eat wherever they feel most comfortable. That may be the dining room, their private room, or another area of the home.
Snacks and drinks are also available between meals, with nutritious, freshly made smoothies, soups, sandwiches, and homemade sweet treats all available.Â
We know that those living with dementia or age-related difficulties can experience eating difficulties, so our experts are on hand to prepare meals outside of our set mealtimes. A large-format menu can be provided upon request, and adapted cutlery and crockery is also available if needed.
My name is Cheryl, and I am the Registered Manager here at Bank Hall. I have worked in the care sector for over 12 years and I am currently working towards my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care. Having progressed through a variety of roles within the company, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the needs of both residents and staff. I remain committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care that prioritises dignity, respect, and independence. Throughout my career, I have been driven by a genuine passion for supporting older people to lead fulfilling lives in a safe, comfortable, and compassionate environment. My goal is to lead a strong, supportive team and to foster a positive culture where everyone, residents, families, and staff feel valued and at home.
My name is Michelle and I am employed by Bank Hall, as part of the management administration team, where I support my manager Cheryl and deputy manager Leah. I also support our care staff where need be, my role is wide and varied and no two days are the same, which is great. You will find me in my office near reception, sorting rotas, wages, resident’s paperwork, recruitment , invoicing, and much more, which I love. The residents often pop in to my office for chats and requests, listening to their history and remembering their past is so heartwarming. I have been at Bank Hall Care Home now for just under a year and I must say this is the happiest I have been for a long time. The residents are cared for with dignity and respect, they are not just a number here , each resident is treated individually.
My name is Leah and I began my career in the care sector in 2013, immediately after leaving college. Over the years, I have progressed from Care Assistant to Senior Care Assistant, Unit Manager, and ultimately Deputy Manager. In 2024, I joined Rochcare, which I consider one of the most rewarding decisions of my career. I am deeply passionate about supporting others and take great pride in being able to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives and overall well-being. I am committed to ensuring that everyone who enters our service feels safe, respected, and well cared for. I strongly believe in promoting independence and supporting residents to live as closely as possible to how they would within their own homes, while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. I have dedicated the majority of my career to supporting individuals living with dementia. I am also committed to providing guidance and additional support to staff, helping them to deliver the highest standard of dementia care. I am committed to ensuring that every person in our care receives the highest standard of support, delivered with dignity, compassion, and respect.
My name is Jackie, and I have been employed at Bank Hall for just under 10 years. I currently work as a cook; however, since joining the company in 2016, I have gained experience in a variety of roles, including care assistant, laundry assistant, and housekeeper. Cooking is something I have always been passionate about, and I find it both enjoyable and therapeutic. I take pride in engaging with our residents, learning about their food preferences, and incorporating their choices into the menu. I particularly enjoy baking and find great satisfaction in creating birthday cakes for each resident, as their reactions make the effort truly rewarding.
My role at Bank Hall is to ensure the building, facilities and gardens are all safe and well maintained so the people living at the care home are safe, comfortable and happy. I maintain building exteriors, office interiors, landscaping, and communal spaces. I’m always available to troubleshoot any issues and make small repairs as needed.
