Job Description: House Keeper

Reports to: Manager

Scope of work - To undertake general cleaning and duties directed by management.

Principle duties and responsibilities:

  • Routine cleaning work including vacuum cleaning, sweeping and mopping of floors - kitchen, dinning rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets and communal areas.
  • Use powered equipment in the course of their duties, such as carpet cleaners.
  • Polishing and dusting of surfaces, fixtures and fittings.
  • Making beds, laundry duties and general housekeeping duties associated with keeping the establishment clean and tidy.
  • Replenish user supplies such as toilet rolls and paper towels.
  • Emptying litter bins.
  • Update line manager where appropriate, including where there is low stock of cleaning materials needed and other disposables such as toilet rolls ect.
  • To follow all associated polices and procedures, involving other professionals and associated policies.
  • To be aware of the confidential nature of issues.
  • To take care of your own and other peoples health and safety.
  • To carefully use expensive equipment.

Individuals in this role may also -

  • Assist with kitchen and dining room duties such as the basic preparation, serving of food, laying and clearing of tables and if necessary washing up.
  • Liaise with their manager reporting any information or occurrences relevant to the provision of the service.
  • Undertake all relevant training, including the correct use of cleaning equipment as appropriate.
  • Maintain all equipment used to clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Assist in escorting residents to and from appointments.
  • Assisting with laundry, washing clothes ect.

£250 welcome bonus upon completion of probation period.
