I started my career in social care in 2000 as a care assistant.
My family all work in a care setting and it was mainly my mother who encouraged me to go into social care.
My background from leaving school in 1979 was in care work as I was an auxiliary nurse in the hospital and only left to start a family.
My favourite part of the job is ensuring that the people I care for are provided with the best quality of care.
I enjoy seeing the residents happy and content and maintaining their independence where possible.
I have completed my NVQ’s at levels 2 and 3.
I thoroughly enjoy working at Royley House, it’s more of a family atmosphere rather than a place of work.
