Senior Carer at Pendle Brook
I started working in care when I was just 18, which is over 12 years ago now. I am passionate about my job and I knew it was perfect for me as soon as I became involved within the care industry.
I started as a carer and worked my way up to become a senior carer specialising in Dementia care.
I thoroughly enjoy working in social care as I love to get to know people, all about their pasts, their families and using the knowledge to provide person centred care. I also encourage colleagues to work with the same approach as it’s one of the most important parts of the job.
I would say that the very best part of my job is building genuine relationships with the residents based upon respect and trust.
I have completed my NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, I have a counselling degree and a teaching degree. I have attended many Dementia courses and have successfully completed all of my mandatory training.
The main things I am looking forward to the most working at Pendle Brook is building new relationships with residents and their loved ones and of course working in such a stunning environment.
