Megan Parfitt

I went into adult social care when I was 18 years old as a care assistant. After just 12 months I was promoted to a senior carer, within 18 months within the role I was promoted again to a team leader.

After many years within my role I decided to progress my career further and was offered a unit manager role, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have since been given the amazing opportunity to become an acting deputy manager at Bank Hall, I am always looking to further my career and have hopes and aspirations to continue to progress within the care sector.

I am very much a family orientated person, I have two children, both boys. 9 years old and a 9 months old baby. My free time consists of family time at home and day trips out.

I enjoy eating out and socialising with friends and family, out door activities and relaxing pj days at home watching films. (when I can)

I’m not sure whether I chose social care or whether social care chose me. I have a natural caring nature and love to see other people happy and living a fulfilled life, so I have always known that the adult care sector was the perfect place for me.

There are many aspects of my job that I enjoy but personally for me, I would have to say my favourite part of my role is ensuring that the residents live a fulfilled, content and happy life.

I always promote a positive culture for the residents, their friends, family and the staff. I always thrive in a fast paced environment where there’s plenty of change and no two working days are the same.
