Cook at Pendle Brook
I have only recently started working in social care, however, I have worked in a nursery setting for over 5 years.
I enjoy the social care aspect as I love to be able to put smiles on peoples faces. I am a people person and I love to interact with people and discover their pasts, interests, likes and dislikes, especially regarding food.
The best part of my job has to be when you see that you are making a difference to someone. Be that, by talking to a person and interacting or seeing the smiles on peoples faces at food times, as long the residents have smiles then so do I.
I have a City and Guilds in catering and hospitality, also certificates in Food Hygiene, First Aid and all of the additional mandatory training required working in a care home.
The main area’s that I am looking forward to the most at Pendle Brook are working alongside the staff to make sure everyone’s needs are met, dietary or otherwise and getting to know each individual resident on a one to one basis.
