Living life to the full at Royley House
At Royley House, our fabulous residential care home in Oldham, we provide you with all the support you need to live a dignified and fulfilling life and to continue to participate in the activities you’ve always enjoyed. We do this by finding out what was, and is, important to you and designing a care and support plan specific to your individual needs, interests and preferences.
We have such a great range of activities on offer in our home that you may discover interests you didn’t know you had! Pottery, scrapbooking, watercolour painting, games, fun exercise classes, lunch and bingo at the local pub, gardening (we grow lots of our own vegetables), nature walks… we do all sorts here. We even have our own choir if you like to sing! Even better, everybody at Royley House has a say about what goes on here so if there’s something you’d like to do that we don’t presently offer, just let us know.
We are very lucky at Royley House to welcome so many visitors. Relatives are encouraged to pop in at any time and members of the community like to join us for a coffee and chat, including the local vicar and a very friendly team of community police officers. Our lovely home really is a hub of the local community.
At the moment, everybody at Royley House is involved in developing the idea for a memory tree in our garden, in remembrance of lost loved ones. We expect the memory tree to be in place in our delightful garden.
Nutritious and delicious home-made food
Meal times are a key part of life at Royley House. Not only is the home-made food nutritious and absolutely delicious, but our well-designed dining room environment ensures that eating is both a relaxing and sociable occasion. We have a fabulous butcher and greengrocer chosen especially for the quality of their food. And our menus are compiled with input from everybody in the home, so you can be sure of getting your favourite meals, whatever your dietary requirements. We also have monthly ‘taster’ afternoons where you can try new foods – this is definitely a favourite activity in the home.
Should you get the munchies during the day, we have all sorts of snacks available including sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, biscuits and ice cream. And if you fancy an afternoon cream tea (tea from a teapot, warm scones with strawberry jam and fresh clotted cream) we can probably rustle that up too.
